Matt is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, with BA degrees in both Sociology and Geography. He has worked in market research for 25 years on both the client and supplier sides, with the bulk of his experience in the entertainment and television industries.
Matt began his research career as a survey statistician with the Veterans Benefits Administration before managing research studies at Discovery Communications for Discovery Channel Stores, Animal Planet and Discovery Health Channel. Prior to joining Element in 2010, Matt spent six years at The Nielsen Company leading Nielsen Entertainment TV’s east coast primary research group, as SVP of Client Services. At Element, Matt specializes in testing and helping clients fine-tune all forms of content—pilots, returning series, and short-form content created for digital platforms—and also manages studies focused on advertising effectiveness and creative development, brand equity, early stage program development, host testing, and concept testing.
Matt is adept at managing both qualitative and quantitative research projects, and enjoys working with a variety of Element’s clients and utilizing his experience with different methodologies.
Matt and his wife live in Delanco, New Jersey. He is an avid sports fan who enjoys reading, running, playing soccer, and relaxing at the beach during his free time.
